About the Challenge

The ATC Wellness Program Challenge is a fun and friendly company-wide, team-driven health and wellness initiative, starting on April 1, 2010.. Teams and individuals will be participating for great prizes while improving their quality of life by Eating Well, Moving Well, and Thinking Well. There will be Health and Wellness seminars throughout the year where all teams will have the opportunity to learn valuable tools to help them install healthy habits.

How and what do you win?

It’s simple. Just sign up and follow the guidelines below. The good news is EVERYBODY WINS by improving their physical and mental well being. Advancing in the program allows you to collect cool prizes as you get healthier.

Earn Points by Moving, Eating, & Thinking!

On the website, employees and their families will have the ability to log their exercise, healthy eating habits and participation in health-related educational lectures/discussions. All of these steps towards a healthier lifestyle will be converted into points/miles that will contribute towards your personal score as well as your team’s.

On your dashboard page, you will be able to view your total points/miles, as well as a breakdown of where your points are coming from (and how they compare to the overall ATC average). Based on how many miles you and/or your team have completed, you will also be able to track your progress along a cross-continental path from Boston to Hollywood, with many historical and famous sites along the way.

Just a few examples of how to earn points/miles:

Exercise!

Whether lifting weights at the gym or skiing on the slopes, you can earn points for your team. A list of activities along with calories burned per hour is available on the website. (You can even earn points for counting your steps daily with a pedometer).

Eat Healthy!

Earn “Food Credits” (also converted into points/miles) by making sure you get enough servings of fruits and/or vegetables in a day or by avoiding processed snacks (Check out the nutrition tab on the website).

Thinking!

By far the easiest way for you to benefit is by coming to seminars that will be held in the Beaverton Office, on board ships, or via information on this website. Each presentation will be designed to add value to your experience in the ATC Wellness Program. Hopefully, you will walk away from each seminar with at least one new idea on health and wellness, fitness, cooking, eating well, etc.

There is an inherent health value in recording and following your own daily and weekly habits. It can give you great insight into the areas where you are strong and areas where you may need to focus. It is important to remember that this is a fun and friendly team competition and that the recording of these points is done on the honor system. We hope you enjoy the sense of community and feel motivated and inspired by the health and wellness consciousness that surrounds the ATC family.
